Skin deep

I breathed

“You’re beautiful”

before planting a

kiss on her cheek;

“Beautiful?”

She snickered

shaking her head blatantly

“Don’t kid me”

her eyes speaking to me

in disbelief;

If beauty was to

be seen from beneath

and not skin deep;

Her face would be glowing

a perfect shade

of sunshine gold;

Her features would be

of an angel’s finish;

Her eyes would be

of blooming daisies

since she only sees

the good in things;

Her words would flow

like music keys

soothing and pleasing

for she only speaks

of positivity;

If outsides

were judged from

insides;

She will be

the most beautiful

lady I will ever

get to see.
