Love, Poetry

Apart

Eight countries

seventeen cities;

Moving through

legions of faces

musing to various

kinds of settings

and watching the city lights

every night

alone in the balcony;

Always wondering

how were you doing

and if there was

a possibility

that we might be looking

at the same luminary;

My heart couldn’t

tread as quickly

as my legs could take me;

I thought

half a world away

would make me

lose touch with

reminiscing;

Yet

nowhere was too distant

for even

from a globe afar;

My heart

still laid

at the side of yours

not even an inch apart.
